So, I have a big update. I am working on transitioning this website to a new host and a contemporary design. Instead of going with WordPress templates (which I would…probably…never pay for), I decided to check out a few HTML/CSS only templates. It has been up for a couple of weeks now. It is a single page design for now, but I will be adding more pages to it for things like my photography (I also caved and made a new Instagram) and a blog style page as well.
Since it is currently a simple HTML/CSS only page, there are some things missing that the template had but only designed the appearance for, not the functionality of. There was a simple pop-up modal they used that was just showing images, which I’ll (probably) reuse for my photo page, but I recently learned of a built-in feature of html that is much simpler called a dialog that may be better suited for what I’m using on the home page. I’m not sure how long that feature has been there, but it seems simple enough to implement and flexible enough that I can easily maintain the design theme I used.
I’m going to leave this page up for now, mostly because I haven’t fully built out all the pages I want to. Like the portfolio page that shows the things I’ve worked on, a blog page like this, my photography page, etc. However, other than these blog posts, I won’t be making any more updates to this page and will be (sadly, slowly) adding new pages to the new page. The new website is at vincentrosas.com (yes, new domain…great just noticed a button wasn’t themed right…) and I’ll have a link on the home page. Eventually I’ll either just sit on this domain so no one takes it, or I’ll just have both domains point to the same page. Time will tell…
